attentive presence
Haiku asks us to look deeply to see the life that is now. Even in pain or distress haiku demands we see freshly, to notice the possible where we have only imagined the impossible.
When we reflect on a moment with curiosity we open to possibility through the lens of attention. We are asked to put our finger on the scale of appreciation, even the recognition of what aches or seems without reason.
How do we express our appreciation for what we have survived?
For those who have helped us along the way?
For the steps we have taken to move forward, however haltingly or gripped with fear?
